
Donald Trump added to fears that his cognitive health is rapidly declining, as he failed to realize the people he was speaking about were right behind him.
The President hosted a press conference today, announcing Apple's commitment to spending an additional $100 billion in the US, as he attempts to encourage domestic manufacturing. The tech giant's latest pledge adds to its previous $500 million investment plan, which it announced in February to be implemented over the next four years. Today's announcement will bring Apple’s cumulative commitment to $600 billion, the White House said.
The big news was somewhat overshadowed by Trump's awkward senior moment, where he said, "Thanks as well to Scott Bessent and Howard Lutnick... wherever you may be." Lutnick quickly called out to the president, "I'm right behind you." It comes after a Trump family member revealed his body is “rotting inside” as she delivered a terrifying update on the president’s health.

"Oh, there you are," Trump responded, adding in an attempt to make light of the situation, saying, "hello fellas, I missed you."
On X, people immediately began to ridicule the president, with one user writing, "No way this guy already forgot he walked into the room together a few minutes ago lmao."
@Plankt0n01 added, "Most powerful man on earth has lost it."
The moment was reminiscent of another recently, when Trump signed an executive order to expand his council on sports, fitness, and nutrition. Trump introduced WWE star Triple H, and looked around for him despite staring directly at him as he spoke.
Immediately beforehand, Trump also stumbled over his words, causing many to believe that he suffered a senile moment. Trump's cognitive health has been the topic of conversation for several months now.
Today, Trump gave Apple's Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook. Trump gave Cook a glowing introduction, calling him "one of the truly great legends of our time."
However, to close out the conference, Trump said, "I want to thank Tim Cook. He's a great, great man, a visionary, a businessman, just about every quality he can have other than athleticism. I'm looking at him -- I'm not 100% sure."
An X user responded to the clip, writing, "Wow as a thank you for kissing the ring Trump calls Tim Apple a certified nerd - how gracious."
Trump has praised the Apple CEO in the past, but recently said he has a "problem" with the tech leader, and urged Apple to assemble its iPhones in the US instead of China or India.
The investment will increase US production of products, such as iPhones and MacBooks, to avoid passing tariffs on to its consumers.
Trump boasted about the current state of America, saying it is currently experiencing "one of the greatest investment booms in the history of our country."
